David Kenton Kring Ceramics

David makes pottery that the viewer can connect with and hopefully open up a dialogue between two people. His exploration of surfaces, forms, and imagery helps to spark conversation. By adding various image transfer techniques he allows the viewer to connect with a shape, a graphic, or pop culture icon, which furthers the exploration of conversation. When drawing from the past, he uses references of old enamel cookware, classic magazine ads, and mid century and pop art of the 50s and 60s.
